Lacing

Step 1
Begin lacing by threading each end of the lace over the eyestays towards the tongue of the shoe on the bottom row of eyelets. The flat of the lace should lay straight over the top of the eyestays, rather than under. Make sure the ends are even.
Step 2
Take the lace from the outside eyelet and run it through the second row's inside eyelet. (From under the eyestay outwards.)
Step 3
Take the lace from the 1st row's inside eyelet and lace it the same way as Step 2, but through the 3rd row's outside eyelet.
Step 4
Take the lace from the second row's inside eyelet and lace it through the second row's outside eyelet, stil threading over the eyestay and in towards the tongue.
Step 5
Take the lace from the second row’s outside eyelet and run it through the fourth row’s inside eyelet. (From under the eyestay outwards.)
Step 6
Take the lace from the third row’s outside eyelet and run it through the third row’s inside eyelet, followed by the fifth row’s outside eyelet. (If you wish to use the loop that’s sewn to the tongue to keep it from sliding around, you’ll want to thread the lace through it here. This is optional.)
Step 7
Take the lace from the fourth row’s inside eyelet and run it through the fourth row’s outside eyelet, followed by the sixth row’s inside eyelet.
Step 8
Take the lace from the fifth row’s outside eyelet and run it through the fifth row’s inside eyelet, followed by the sixth row’s outside eyelet.
Step 9
All done! You can now tie your bow: make sure it’s neat—tied evenly over the center of the tongue.
